Road & Infrastructure Upgrades and the benefits to Broadstead Kilmore
Exciting road upgrades are in planning in Beveridge and Wallan, that will benefit daily commutes for Broadstead residents. Delivered by the Victorian Government as part of the Big Build Roads project, these works will not only reduce congestion and improve safety but also make travel more efficient, supporting growth and development in the region. Continue reading for an overview of the key road upgrades that will directly benefit Broadstead residents:
Watson Street Interchange Upgrade Wallan
- The project is planned to add an outbound exit ramp and an inbound entry ramp, improving access, reducing congestion and travel times, and providing safer journeys. The Victorian Government completed a survey for community feedback and 98% of community respondents responded in support of the upgrade.
Camerons Lane Interchange Upgrade Beveridge
- The Camerons Lane Interchange upgrade is planned to enhance access to the Hume Freeway and reduce traffic congestion. Once works are completed, Broadstead residents travelling to Beveridge or further south into Melbourne will see better road access and safer routes, supporting future growth and development in the area.
Closer to home, the long-awaited Kilmore Bypass has seen slow progress, with the Northern Highway and Wandong Road Kilmore roundabout project appearing to take precedence. Once completed, the roundabout will provide a safer, more efficient route for Broadstead residents by accommodating increasing traffic, oversized vehicles, and the future growth of Mitchell Shire and surrounding areas.
These improvements will significantly enhance daily commutes for Broadstead residents.
